My Erasmus destination : Athens

During the week, I wake up at 8am because I start my class at 9am.

I take my breakfast and I often eat a greek yogourt with honey, I adore it ! Next I walk to the university. It is useful to live near. All the morning I have architecture classes and in the afternoon until 4pm. At mid-day, I take my lunch in the school's restaurant with my new friends Alexandre, Dimitri, Chloé and Clio. Clio is from Mykonos, this is an island of Greece and the others are from Athens. At 4pm, I go to the library to do my homework then I come back to my room. Sometimes, at night I go out in the town or I stay in the house with Helena and other students who live there.

At the weekend, I meet my greek family, I do my homework, or I visit Athens,... I also started to take greek class to improve my greek. This is from 5pm to 6pm, the saturday... this is difficult.

Generally, the saturday lunch-time, I take the subway to ΕΣΤΙΑΤΟΡΙΟ , this is a restaurant where you can eat typical greek food. Every meal is delicious. Last time, I ordered a Moussaka, yum ! I discovered it thanks to my friend Alexandre. The boss is a member of his family.

Hello,

I arrived in Greece 10 days ago. It's amazing ! The university is so cool ! I have started class, this is hard. I am so happy that I was accepted in this school .

I live in a room in a student house near the NTUA. My house's name is "μ" (mu), it's like the "m" in french.

This is the living room of my house.

 

I am with a room-mate. Her name is Helena , she is from Athens. She has brown hair and brown eyes, she is small and really friendly. She helps me to learn greek and not lose myself in the corridor of this huge university. She learns in the school of civil engineering.

I already visited a little part of Athens with her and some of her friends. Tonight, we will go out to Helena's favorite bar. I am impatient !

This university is my first choice. In fact I would like to travel in Greece, because I already went there 2 times and this is a wondrefull country. So I want to know more about it. The peoples are welcoming. Moreover I have some family in Athens, so it will be easier for me at the beginning of my stay.

As well as that the National Technical University of Athens would be a really good opportunity to complement my degree.

I know it will be hard to get into this school and it will be difficult for me to learn the greek, but fortunately in Greece most of the people speak english and I learned ancient greek so I know the greek alphabet.

In addition, the university has an interesting history and a beautiful facade, but they are just details .

I decided to complete my degree in Greece in the National Technical University of Athens. First this is a good university, one of the best of Athens. NTUA is  divided into nine academic schools, eight being for the engineering sciences, including architecture, and one for the general  sciences. The total number of undergraduate students is about 8500 and the graduate students 1500. The nine faculties are divided into 33 Departments including 4 in architectures. Mine will be Architectural Design. Unfortunatly I will be hard to be accepted because only one student of Erasmus program can go to this university. If I will study there it will be for 10 months.

My name is Agathe BENED, I am 21 years old. I come from Montpellier in France. I study architecture in national school : the Superior School of Architecture of Montpellier. It is my third year in this university. I have to study 3 years more to do the job I want to do. I would like to have autority from the State Architect in order to work on my own projects. I work in the departement of Architecture and Heritage.

This year, I can travel with Erasmus in a foreign country, I have decided to try to go to the National Technical University of Athens.
